World Green Roof Infrastructure Congress from 19 to 21 October, Canada

CITIESALIVE says its inaugural World Green Roof Infrastructure Congress held in Canada from 19 to 21 October is in partnership with the City of Toronto.

According to CitiesAlive, the event is also held in partnership with the World Green Roof Infrastructure Network, Green Roofs for Healthy Cities. The objectives of the Congress are to raise awareness of the benefits of green roof infrastructure and to build capacity of the green roof.

The CitiesAlive Congress will address the theme of ‘Green Roof Infrastructure: A Global Solution to Climate Change’.

CitiesAlive 2009 is said to be the only event in North America which gathers the international green infrastructure community together to address issues as they relate to environmental, social and economic needs on a local, regional and global level. Green infrastructure embraces the relationship between green roofs and green walls, as well as other forms of urban greenery such as urban forests.
