Victoria’s most beautiful regional communities recognised with Tidy Towns Awards

VICTORIAN Minister for Environment and Climate Change, Gavin Jennings says the Keep Australia Beautiful Victoria annual environmental awards has recognised Victoria’s most beautiful regional communities.

According to the Minister, the Tidy Towns Awards acknowledge the achievements of individuals, groups and organisations whose contribution makes their communities more sustainable.

The Minister says the shortlist of finalists in the Sustainable Communities — Tidy Towns Awards had completed a variety of sustainable initiatives from installing renewable energy infrastructure and diverting waste from landfill, to revegetating local parks and water conservation initiatives.

Jennings says winners in each category, as well as Victoria’s most Sustainable Community — Tidy Towns, will be announced at a gala ceremony in Horsham on 3 October.
