Green Roofs Australia Conference 2009 from 23 to 25 September in Melbourne

THE GREEN Roofs Australia Conference will be held from 23 to 25 September 2009 at Burnley campus in the University of Melbourne.

According to Green Roofs Australia, the rapidly growing Green Roof and Wall industry is providing a realistic and tangible response to the climate change challenges many cities are currently facing.

Green Roofs Australia says the conference will cover the field of Green Roofs from design and implementation to its underlying research. The event will be a way to learn and understand this growing global landscaping trend.

Organisers say few technologies have ever had so much to offer by way of improving the health and well being of urban residents, while contributing to the development of restorative, high performance buildings.

Green roofs and walls are said to make a unique contribution to the quality of our urban environment. Green Roofs Australia is hosting the conference to increase the awareness of the economic, social, and environmental benefits of green roof and wall infrastructure. To advance and support the growth of green roofs by the sharing of ideas and knowledge via research, development and education.
